Welcome to Dorset Enterprises and Escor Toys.
We are a manufacturing workshop employing people with a wide range of disabilities and are owned and supported by Bournemouth Borough Council.
Dorset Enterprises was started in 1914 by a local Councilor to provide employment for disabled Servicemen. It has changed and grown over the past 90 plus years into the modern workshop we have today boasting some of the latest equipment on the market and providing employment for 25 - 30 people with disabilities. We produce Deckchairs, Garden Furniture, Luggage Racks and offer a sub-contract service for bespoke wooded products and can boast amongst our customers the Victoria & Albert Museum, OXFAM, Fosters and Vodaphone to name but a few.
Escor Toys have been producing Traditional Wooden toys for the pre-school market since 1938. The business started in a garage by a Mr E S Corner from whom the range gets its name. The Escor range of toys are manufactured from forest managed beech wood and finished in bright child safe paints and lacquer. Used by both Health and Education Professionals Escor Toys encourage to develop their skills with colours, counting and dexterity and provide the opportunity to develop imaginative play.
We have recently been awarded the Ethical Consumer Best Buy Logo which only enforces our commitment to manufacture in an ethical way.
